New Covenant Session
|
Teaching Elder Rev. E. John Franklin Sr.
Moderator of the Session Pastor John Franklin came to know the Lord Jesus as his Savior and King from an early age. In high school, he believed the Lord was calling him to help people, though he wasn't sure how. Through college, it became clear that John was being called to ministry to shepherd, care for, and teach in God's church. After graduating from Bryan College with a Christian Ministry degree, he attended and graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC with his Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Counseling. He is an enthusiastic Clemson and Atlanta Braves fan, husband to Morgan, and father to two children. He and his family moved to Natchez in 2022, and they love the home and family they've found in New Covenant and the Miss Lou. |
New Covenant Officers
New Covenant Presbyterian Church is led by a plurality of Elders (Teaching Elders and Ruling Elders), called the Session. These men are voted into office by the congregation. They are called to shepherd and teach the flock, as well as guide the church's life and worship. The congregation also votes for men to fulfill the office of Deacon, who lead through acts of service and caring for the physical needs of the church. Each of these leaders affirm the Westminster Confession of Faith & Catechisms and embody the qualifications of leadership laid out in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
