New Covenant Presbyterian Church is a local body belonging to the denomination known as the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). We are a part of Grace Presbytery in Mississippi, where we are connected with multiple churches in the southern region of our state. First and foremost, our beliefs and philosophies come from the Bible. We also use the Westminster Standards and the PCA's Book of Church Order to inform our theology, worship, and form of government. Other summaries of our beliefs can be found in the Apostles' Creed, Nicene Creed, and Heidelberg Catechism.
New Covenant is a church that above all things stays loyal and true to God’s Word. We believe that the Bible is God’s inerrant, holy, and inspired Word, the only infallible rule for faith and practice. It is relevant and useful for everyone today at any time and during any season of life (Joshua 1:8-9, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12).
We believe Jesus, God’s only son, to be our Redeemer, Mediator, and Savior. Man is a fallen creature. When we say “fallen”, we mean that man turned from his original estate with God in Genesis 3 and now lives in a state of sin. However, God has given us his Son to save the world and all those who believe in him (John 3:16-17). Man isn’t righteous on his own and cannot save himself (Romans 3:10-12); instead, it is a Spirit-given gift of grace. Jesus is the only way we can inherit our salvation and be justified and adopted into the family of God (John 14:6, Romans 8:12-17).
Here at New Covenant, we dedicate our time together by being active, faithful, and obedient followers of God by studying his word, attending morning and monthly evening worship, praying together, singing hymns, and participating in the Lord’s Supper. We believe that we need Jesus – we need him more than anything else. He is the Light of the World and that is what we must follow (1 Corinthians 1:21, Romans 3:23; 5:8; 6:23; 10:9-10,17; John 9:5).
New Covenant Presbyterian Church strives each week to dive into God’s Word and be blessed by our study and fellowship time that God’s Word provides. We are family oriented and strive to be “servants of Christ” in all that we do (James 1:1, 1 Corinthians 10:31).
If you are new to Natchez or a current resident and have never been here with us to worship and fellowship, please come and join us for one of our weekly activities & worship times!
